When completing this assignment, I struggled a lot trying to define my personal values. It isn’t such an easy thing to determine who you are and what you stand for, so I took to the people closest to me. I asked my family and best friends what they see in me as a person and how they would remember me. From those responses I tried to develop my own list of values that I thought rang true to who I am and who I try to be on a daily basis. After narrowing down the list I decided the values that were most important to me would be that I am giving, driven but also spontaneous, kind and caring, passionate and creative.. These were the attributes I see in myself the most daily and things that I wake up trying to achieve every day.

 

I think of these attributes one of the most important to be successful is to give back to the people and organizations around you. I believe in the gift of giving and that what goes around comes around. I think if you are willing to care about the people around you and give back to those who give to you, that circle of goodness and giving will be a continuous cycle. What goes around comes around, and even if it doesn’t always come right back to you, you know in your heart that you have positively impacted someone else and knowing that has also probably impacted you in a positive way as well. I think that giving helps people understand what is important to them and helps bring a sense of connection among people. This is an important attribute to being successful, because you have to work as a team to be successful and being a team means giving and helping one another for success.
